Making of Dusk Dance

Dusk Dance came around pretty quickly once I put pencil to paper. This piece depicts the sandhill crane, which makes a migratory journey every year. Traveling those distances is still hard for me to comprehend and leave me in awe.

I chose to go with unnatural colors for the final painting to elevate this animal to a sort of mythical being that can accomplish feats impossible to others.
