Drawing in the Mountains
This summer I traveled out to Montana for some hiking, camping and drawing in the woods. I live in Chicago and after a too-long summer really needed to escape the gray and concrete. Glacier National Park is one of my most favorite places to visit.
There are so many things about hiking that I enjoy - the exploration, internalizing natures beauty, the act of moving forward. But hiking in GNP is more significant to me. The place holds special meanings and memories from my nine previous visits.
Two weeks of trails and wildlife easily left me seriously inspired. I started immediately - on my train ride home - sketching out ideas and working towards a series of drawings that might come close to satisfactorily expressing my connection to this place.
Stay tuned for an announcement of what I plan to do with this series. If you haven't already - sign up for my mailing list to get the project alert right to your inbox!
